Ready for Launch

NC State alumnus Long V. Nguyen ’63 and his wife, Kimmy T. Duong, are creating an Extraordinary Opportunity Scholarship that will support College of Sciences students while honoring the memory of influential faculty members Wesley Doggett and Raymond Murray.

NC State University Foundation Presents 2023 Godwin, Menscer Honors

The NC State University Foundation’s annual awards ceremony and dinner took place Dec. 7 at the City Club in downtown Raleigh. This year, the foundation presented Trent Ragland with the Jerry and Elizabeth Godwin Red Torch Award and Dellaine Risley with the Darrell and Carolyn Menscer Cup.

Full Court, Full Circle

Jalen Latta will leave NC State in May with two degrees and three ACC championship rings, thanks to his time as a manager for the women’s basketball team. His success story also intersects with the 1983 Wolfpack men’s NCAA title team — with one key assist connected to a member of that legendary squad.

Sharing Community and Connection

Wolfpack Women in Philanthropy recently hosted a luncheon at D.H. Hill Jr. Library celebrating the past, present and future of NC State women. Held in collaboration with NC State University Libraries, the event brought together women spanning generations, academic disciplines, professions and university relationships, just as Wolfpack Women in Philanthropy does.

2022 Watauga Medal Ceremony Recognizes Three Extraordinary Pack Members

NC State’s Board of Trustees presented three alumni with the Watauga Medal, the university’s highest nonacademic honor, during a March 4 ceremony held in the ballroom at Talley Student Union. As the 2022 medalists, Brenda Brickhouse, Bill Culpepper and Jerry Jackson joined a group of 126 previous honorees who have made notable and dedicated contributions to the advancement of NC State.

The NC State University Foundation Board recently presented its annual awards to recognize those who go above and beyond in their service, leadership, advocacy and generosity in support of NC State. Steven D. “Steve” Schuster was posthumously honored with the Jerry and Elizabeth Godwin Red Torch Award, while Ed and Deb Fitts received the Darrell and Carolyn Menscer Cup.
