Renovations Taking Shape at D.H. Hill Jr. Library

Construction at D.H. Hill Jr. Library means more than just an aesthetic update — renovations will support the overall success of the campus community. The most noticeable change will be the new Academic Success Center, a partnership between NC State University Libraries and the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. The center will provide on-campus academic support to undergraduate and graduate students, and is scheduled for completion in fall 2020.

ASME Newsmaker Srinath Ekkad

Srinath V. Ekkad, R.J. Reynolds Professor and head of the department of mechanical and aerospace engineering at NC State University, has been named the new editor of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' Journal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications. Ekkad's own research focuses on thermal management, energy concepts, propulsion and advanced system diagnostics, and it has been supported by a number of government agencies and companies.

Beam Me Up

Construction workers hit a big milestone earlier this month in their work on NC State's new Wellness and Recreation Center, securing the final steel beam high atop the structure. Scheduled to open in 2020, the facility - paired with Talley Student Union - will anchor student life on Main Campus.
