Today, he serves as president and chief executive officer of Parkdale, a global leader in yarn manufacturing, and president of the North Carolina Textile Foundation. He and his wife, Christa H. Heilig, are also creating extraordinary opportunities by endowing the Charles S. Heilig III Scholarship.

His family recently learned about the NC State Veterinary Hospital's world-class care firsthand: A delicate surgical procedure performed by Peter Early helped their dog Cora Belle regain her mobility.

NC State Education Names 2019 ECMC Foundation Fellows for Postsecondary Career and Technical Education Research

Sixteen research fellows from institutions across the nation have been selected to participate in the Career and Technical Education Research Program at NC State, which is sponsored by ECMC Foundation. Known as ECMC Foundation Fellows, the selected researchers will participate in training institutes, webinars on research methods and a convening focusing on postsecondary CTE.

Smithfield Foods Supports Soldier to Agriculture Program

The Smithfield Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Smithfield Foods Inc., has given $200,000 to help support NC State's Soldier to Agriculture Program, a partnership between the Agricultural Institute and the career center at Fort Bragg.

2019 Scholarship Dinner Celebrates Radical Generosity

At February’s annual scholarship dinner hosted by the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Foundation, NC State College of Veterinary Medicine students spent time with the donors who help make their education possible. CVM Dean Paul Lunn said that between 2013 and 2017, the amount of scholarship funds available to the college's students rose from $282,000 to $879,000, and he hopes that figure will exceed $1 million by next year.

Amoah Receives First Place at Workshop

Materials science and engineering graduate student Stephen Amoah, who spoke at NC State's Red and White Night celebration in 2017, was honored as ORaCEL (Organic and Carbon Electronics Labs) held the Future of Materials Workshop at Talley Student Union. The aim was to “address the grand challenges facing the next generation of functional materials by fostering collaborative activities that harness a wide-range of research tools and intellectual resources within the Research Triangle area.” Amoah works in the lab of Franky So, Walter and Ida Freeman Distinguished Professor.
