An extraordinary gift from Bill and Frances Henry will enable the university to complete the Memorial Belltower – including the installation of the full complement of 55 bells, carillon and interior stairs as originally designed.

Poole College of Management has named the newest cohort of Jenkins MBA students selected as McLauchlan Leadership Fellows. The 26 new Fellows — chosen from across the full-time, evening and online MBA programs — will receive professional, graduate-level leadership education through experiential learning opportunities, made possible through the generosity of Russ and Cara McLauchlan.

College of Natural Resources Researchers Present at Wallenberg Prize Symposium for Young Researchers

Support from the Gunnar and Lillian Nicholson Graduate Fellowship and Faculty Exchange Fund in Forestry enabled Lilian Matallana, Jack Wang, José Jimenez and Edwin Lauer to join 33 other global researchers at the Marcus Wallenberg Prize Symposium and Young Researchers’ Poster Session in Stockholm, Sweden. Wang received third place.

Technology and Complex Details Meet Aesthetics and Usability

Alumnus Junji Kawabe, a Franklin Bost Industrial Design Fellowship recipient during his time in the College of Design, recently received an iF Design Award Gold. Kawabe's two NC State degrees — a bachelor's in aerospace engineering and a master's in industrial design — are proving to be a complementary strength in his career.

Sederoff Papers Available to Researchers

The NCSU Libraries Special Collections Research Center announced its receipt of the Ron Sederoff Papers, now available to researchers. Sederoff, an internationally known forestry and environmental resources expert who joined NC State's faculty in 1987, is currently Emeritus Distinguished University Professor and Edwin F. Conger Professor of Forestry and Environmental Resources.

Equine Surgeon Committed to Compassionate Care

Callie Fogle, clinical associate professor of equine surgery, is nearing her 15th year at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. She splits her time between soft tissue surgeries and emergency interventions, teaching, research and clinical studies. CVM is raising funds for a new Equine and Farm Animal Veterinary Center that will provide even greater support for its innovative work with horses.

Surviving the Shark Tank

Park Scholar alumnus Steven Mazur nearly came up short when he braved ABC-TV’s Shark Tank in late October in search of a $100,000 investment in his Detroit company, which sells clothes for men 5-foot-8 and under. But he and business partner Eric Huang wound up with more than they asked for. And it came from the tallest investor in the tank: Mark Cuban, the 6-foot-3 owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks.
