Lawrence Davenport, a 1965 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences graduate, is the vice president of Davenport Farms and retired president of J.P. Davenport and Son, a 120-year-old family agriculture business. He is a member of the Student Aid Association Board of Directors, the North Carolina Tobacco Foundation and Vidant Health.

Sarah Davenport is a retired high school English teacher and serves on the Pitt County Educational Foundation Board of Directors.

Lawrence and Sarah Davenport are co-chairs of the Campaign for NC State.
