Jim Goodnight earned his bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and his master’s in statistics from NC State. He also earned his doctorate in statistics at NC State, where he was a faculty member from 1972 to 1976. He is the co-founder and CEO of SAS Institute, the world’s leading business analytics software vendor.

Ann Goodnight, a 1968 College of Humanities and Social Sciences graduate, is the senior director of community relations at SAS Institute. She is a member of the NC State Board of Trustees and the Friday Institute National Advisory Board.

Jim and Ann Goodnight are co-chairs of the Campaign for NC State.
