NC State is embarking on the largest fundraising effort in its history: Think and Do the Extraordinary, a $1.6 billion Campaign to support students, faculty, facilities and research for decades to come.
At the head of that effort is our Campaign Cabinet — leaders who have strong connections to NC State.
Vickie and Jimmy Clark
Tremendous NC State supporters, Jimmy and Vickie have made investments in several colleges, programs and initiatives across the university. Jimmy is a 1974 College of Engineering graduate, and Vickie is a friend of NC State and volunteer.
Sarah and Lawrence Davenport
Lawrence and Sarah Davenport have provided ongoing and generous support to several campus priorities. Lawrence is a 1965 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences graduate, and Sarah is a longtime friend of NC State and volunteer.
Ann and Jim Goodnight
Alumni of NC State, the Goodnights have made truly transformative investments in the university. Jim has three degrees from the College of Sciences, and Ann earned her degree from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Carol and Lonnie Poole
Lonnie and Carol Poole's philanthropy has made an impact at NC State both inside and outside the classroom. Lonnie is a 1959 graduate of the NC State College of Engineering, and Carol has been a longtime friend of the university, as well as a volunteer.
Randy Woodson, the 14th chancellor of NC State, is a nationally recognized scholar and academic leader who oversees the largest university in North Carolina, with more than 35,000 students and an annual budget of $1.48 billion.
Under his leadership, NC State has built upon its reputation as a pre-eminent research institution and has witnessed many transformative changes — the opening of the James B. Hunt Jr. Library on Centennial Campus, the launch of the College of Sciences, the completion of the Lonnie Poole Golf Course and the creation of several NC State-led research hubs that are taking on global challenges.
Warwick Arden is NC State’s provost and executive vice chancellor. As the university’s chief academic officer, he collaborates with vice provosts, executive officers, college deans and others in the administration of all academic and student affairs.
Arden has led numerous key campus initiatives, including the development and implementation of “The Pathway to the Future: NC State’s 2011-2020 Strategic Plan,” along with the university’s recent reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Brian Sischo is the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement and President of the NC State University Foundation. Under Sischo’s leadership, NC State launched the most ambitious fundraising campaign in university history, a $1.6 billion effort to increase scholarship support, fund research and faculty positions, revitalize campus and increase the university’s endowment. To date, nearly 80,000 alumni and friends from all 100 counties in North Carolina, all 50 states and 63 countries have supported the Campaign, resulting in record giving in the past two fiscal years. Sischo has implemented university-wide engagement initiatives such as Red and White Week and the Campaign Cabinet to connect alumni and friends with NC State.

"Supporting NC State is among the best investments you will ever make. I would encourage folks to explore ways to become more involved. You will meet extraordinarily capable, interesting and engaging people - leadership, faculty and students - who will inspire you to become part of NC State's culture of philanthropy. You will be led to give. You will want to give. You will want to be a part of the truly extraordinary upward trajectory of this great university."
"Your gift, no matter the size, will make a difference as NC State students and faculty continue working to solve today’s grand issues. Your gift may allow the next teacher of your children to better themselves, or it may reduce the time needed to generate the research to cure cancer or improve other medical procedures. The Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign is transforming NC State into the leading university in North Carolina, and it is helping attract top industry and researchers. This will pay dividends for generations to come."
