Keeping up with growing resource and facility needs is the price a leading research university must pay for its achievements. NC State is a leader in technology and has made significant strides toward expanding and modernizing its physical plant, thanks to the North Carolina Higher Education Bond Referendum of 2000. Wise use of these public funds has significantly strengthened our infrastructure and resources — but much work remains to be done.
There are many important additional needs not covered by bond financing. Some goals have been achieved and are yielding dividends — including the Murphy Football Center and the McSwain Education Center at the J. C. Raulston Arboretum. Others are in the development process, but need additional support to be completed. Still more have been planned, but require private gifts to be realized. The Achieve! campaign will provide this funding and allow us to upgrade our facilities commensurate with our elevated national stature.
