Campaigning For NC Counties

Whether it’s dealing with a drought, managing animal agriculture issues or educating the public and the agricultural industry about food safety and processing, the programs sponsored by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service have benefited from the Campaign for Counties, a comprehensive fund-raising effort that aims to establish private support for local NC State Cooperative Extension centers in every NC county and the Qualla Boundary of the Cherokee Nation.

The campaign is well on its way to creating significant endowment and enhancement funds for local NC Cooperative Extension programs. Programs give state residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University through educational programs, publications and events.

Through the Campaign for Counties, these funds will benefit the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service Foundation, the NC 4-H Development Fund, the NC Family and Consumer Sciences Foundation (FCSF), and NC Landscapes of Opportunity Foundation. Endowments or enhancement funds have been established in 82 of North Carolina’s 100 counties.  Some counties have as many as five different funds to support locally-determined programs in agriculture, family and consumer sciences, 4-H youth development and community development.
