These prestigious donor societies honor the extraordinary support of our most generous contributors. Our six lifetime societies are named in honor of benefactors who have shaped the history of NC State.
The Alexander Quarles Holladay Society
Named for the first president (1889-1899) of the North Carolina College of Agricultural and Mechanical Arts, now known as NC State University. Holladay was instrumental in charting the course for the new land-grant college for North Carolina. The Holladay Society honors the outstanding commitment of $5,000,000 or more in either outright or irrevocable planned gifts.

The William Joseph Peele Society
Founder of the Watauga Club, an influential spokesman for strong agricultural and industrial education programs, and honored as principal speaker at the laying of the cornerstone for Main Building (later renamed Holladay Hall), The Peele Society honors and recognizes lifetime gift support of $1,000,000 or more in outright gifts or irrevocable planned gifts.

The Walter Hines Page Society
A founding member of the Watauga Club which co-sponsored legislation in the North Carolina General Assembly to establish NC State University, the Page Society recognizes lifetime gift support of $500,000 or more in outright gifts or irrevocable planned gifts of $750,000 or more.

The Charles William Dabney Society
Named for the man who in 1887 drafted the legislation that authorized the establishment of what is now known as NC State University, the Dabney Society recognizes lifetime gift support of $250,000 or more in outright gifts or irrevocable planned gifts of $375,000 or more.

The Riddick Society
Recognizing a versatile University leader who served as Engineering Professor and Dean as well as Head Football Coach, the Riddick Society recognizes lifetime gift support of $100,000 or more in outright gifts or irrevocable planned gifts of $150,000 or more.

The Leonidas Lafayette Polk Society
Named for North Carolina’s first Commissioner of Agriculture and founder and first editor of The Progressive Farmer, the Polk Society recognizes lifetime gift support of $50,000 or more in outright gifts or irrevocable planned gifts of $75,000 or more.
