College of Management
The Human Side Of Technology
Since it was established in 1992, NC State’s College of Management has carved a niche for itself as a comprehensive business college with uniquely focused graduate and undergraduate programs that prepare individuals for careers in today’s dynamic, technology-rich, global business environment. The college’s faculty integrate real world experiences with classroom instruction, drawing on their research and practical experience. Project-based classes have student teams working with companies to provide solutions to real issues being faced by businesses and industries today. This approach is particularly effective for students transitioning from a technical background to management roles.
Strongest Link In The Chain
A gift of $2.2 million from the Caterpillar Foundation and James W. Owens, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, will help NC State University build a global supply chain management (SCM) program with academic, research and outreach components.
To Market, To Market
A company can spend years — and millions — developing a new product, service or technology. Yet if no one understands how to get the offering to market, both the intellectual elbow grease and financial investment will be all for naught. Fortunately for those businesses interested in launching new offerings, the College of Management’s Mitzi Montoya has been teaching NC State graduate students how to produce results.
